VOGUE CAFÉ
at Printemps Haussman Paris

Vogue Paris’ pop-up Hugo & Victor patisserie at retailer Printemps Hausmann steals the Fashion Week pre-show with its pretty in pink paneled walls, 1970′s brass and chrome pieces, and Vogue cover prints from the past. It’s a fun little maison-away-from-maison for the foodie fashion lover…

PACKING LIST
Art Basel Miami

I’m soooo excited…checking off another bucket list item to close out 2013 with my first trip to Art Basel Miami! I do admit, however, when I first decided to go, I had NO IDEA it was such a scene to be seen. Cue me last week scrambling to figure out what fabulous attire I could bring along! Miami in December? Edgy, tropical, winter? A fashion conundrum to say the least. My solution: build a wardrobe around muse Kelly Wearstler’s artsy style with black and white pieces for work and play that can go from day to night (because you never know where the day can lead!)…

KATE MOSS
in Istanbul by Mario Testino

I’m embarrassed to admit I was not aware of this stunning shoot until flipping through the December issue of Vogue under a dryer at the hair salon. I gasped! I beamed! Such gorgeous photography belongs in a gallery setting or at the very least, framed, surely? Feast your eyes on the beauty of the ornate backdrop that is Istanbul, of the always lovely Kate Moss and regal Chiwetel Ejiofor, and of the finest resort collection pieces from Dior, Gucci, Ralph Lauren, Jason Wu and Proenza Schouler, all masterfully captured by none other than Mr. Mario Testino…

TRAVEL SKETCHBOOK
A Sign of Your Time?

I busted out an old travel sketchbook recently and sighed audibly as I relived those moments in time when I sat, stared, sketched, and took it all in. But then I quickly realized: oh dear, these sketches are over 10 years old! That’s a problem. I’m not sure why my travel in the past decade has prevented me from keeping up my sketchbook — am I too much on the go? Do I try to squeeze too much in? Am I traveling to the wrong types of places? Or is it more of a sign of the times (ahem, Instagram)? Regardless, I promised myself, I resolve to do at least one sketch per trip for the next year…

FRENCH LUXE
L’Hôtel by Martin Margiela

Happy Monday! Hope you all had a productive weekend! I got to work on a new pinboard for my shoot this week, and in the midst of my search for inspiration, came across La Maison Champs Élysées in Paris by fashion designer Martin Margiela. The über chic hotel is minimalist glam at its finest: the black and white printed wallpaper is genius, but the clever, artsy “Lost Moldings” suite and the bright and shiny “White Lounge” had me at bonjour

LA DOLCE VITA
Gray Malin Photography

Cinque Terre

By now you all know my #1 travel destination on the bucket list is the Italian Riviera and/or the Amalfi Coast. (I’m not picky, I’ll take either…or both.) Although it falls into my current love of all things “1970′s Mediterranean Jetsetter” it’s a place I’ve always been enchanted by — the townscapes, the lifestyle, and of course, the beaches. So I’ve been watching ever so closely via Instagram and Facebook photographer Gray Malin‘s sneak peeks of his location shoots along 2000 km of Italian coast. And to my delight, yesterday he released his latest collection of prints aptly named La Dolce Vita – fellow jetsetters, rejoice!

BOOK ART
Ideal Bookshelf

If you’ve been following this page for a while, you know I have somewhat of a problem…I cannot seem to collect enough fashion and design books! To perhaps help cure my compulsion, Ideal Bookshelf by artist Jane Mount may have to come to my rescue: paintings of our favorite reads covering a variety of subjects. Are you as excited as I am about the possibilities?! Great gift idea, you can commission the artist for a custom painting, or simply satisfy your bookworm cravings with a $28 print like these…

RETRO RIVIERA
Wanderlusting

Found this spread in my files, and can’t believe I had not posted it! Especially considering my current jet-setting reveries, this 60′s-inspired Riviera campaign for Luisa Spagnoli à la Bardot, Veruschka and Berenson is pure perfection. French or Italian, I’m not picky, just take me THERE…
