There are some people in this world that you meet, you click, you heart…even virtually. Client Sabra Lattos (previously of The Lonely Wife Project) and I met through our blogs, but we quickly became FIRLs and I adore her both personally and professionally. So when this clever, talented, wonderful woman decided to go for it and branch out on her own, I was so honored that she reached out to me to help her create a visual foundation upon which to build her budding photography business. Out of this successful collaboration came a logo, brand and website of which I am so proud. Today I have the pleasure of featuring a FIRL (“friend in real life”) and fave client’s work!! I had the opportunity to finally meet the talented Naomi last year in New York after following her interior design blog for two years. I’ve sung her praises here many times before, so it was an incredible honor that she and her father decided to work with me on the rebranding of their family-run company, Design Manifest. I thoroughly enjoyed collaborating with them on a new logo, new business cards, website and blog that would really showcase the totally unique style, expert eye, craftsmanship and execution that they bring to each and every beautiful project. ANNIVERSARY “JEWELRY”

Plus a new “Design Under the Influence”

My 10-year wedding anniversary is coming up, and instead of asking for diamond earrings again, this year I decided to get creative. The husband may not be the hearts and flowers type, but he is quite handy around the house (a lost art these days, don’t you think?). So I’m putting my architect to good use with a D.I.Y. chandelier by Lindsey Adelman. Her custom pieces go from $6k-$20k and up, so it’s a real treat that she would share a $130 version for us regular folk! I’m excited, and the husband’s happy he gets off the hook for another year…

PROJECT LAUNCH

I’m thrilled to announce the launch of a new project for a super talented and super sweet client! Rebecca Atwood is an artist and textile designer in New York that I’ve had the absolute pleasure of working with the past few months. To introduce her new line, we wanted to create a simple yet totally unique brand, website and online store that would complement her handmade, handcrafted products. Both of us could not be happier with the end result!

The Man, The Muse

I’m over at La Dolce Vita today with a new “Design Under the Influence” where I’m celebrating the man behind the original Fontainebleu, The Americana and Eden Roc hotels in Miami Beach: architect Morris Lapidus.

He once said of his intentions when guests walked into his hotels that he ”wanted people to walk in and drop dead.” Now that’s a design statement!

CARTAS DE AMOR
Best Valentine’s Ever!

While I was out, MadeByGirl’s Jen Ramos launched an endearing and adorable collection of love letters from 18 bloggers, together titled “Cartas de Amor.” Obviously I am just thrilled to have been asked to participate! + Target, Tomorrow!

We’ve been talking about it for months, and it’s finally here! TOMORROW, the designer collaboration between Neiman Marcus and Target launches in store and online, just in time for the holidays! In addition to donating $1 million to the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) in support of the American fashion design community, the two companies have recruited 24 CFDA designers to create limited-edition gift items, with most priced under $60. We’re talking real leather and silk, hand beading, hand-blown glass and 18K gold. Some of my faves:
