ANNIVERSARY “JEWELRY”
D.I.Y. Chandelier by Lindsey Adelman

Plus a new “Design Under the Influence”

My 10-year wedding anniversary is coming up, and instead of asking for diamond earrings again, this year I decided to get creative. The husband may not be the hearts and flowers type, but he is quite handy around the house (a lost art these days, don’t you think?). So I’m putting my architect to good use with a D.I.Y. chandelier by Lindsey AdelmanHer custom pieces go from $6k-$20k and up, so it’s a real treat that she would share a $130 version for us regular folk! I’m excited, and the husband’s happy he gets off the hook for another year…

PROJECT LAUNCH
Rebecca Atwood

I’m thrilled to announce the launch of a new project for a super talented and super sweet client! Rebecca Atwood is an artist and textile designer in New York that I’ve had the absolute pleasure of working with the past few months. To introduce her new line, we wanted to create a simple yet totally unique brand, website and online store that would complement her handmade, handcrafted products. Both of us could not be happier with the end result!

BIKER CHIC
Kate Moss for Matchless

I’m conceptualizing a new brand for a client, and this campaign featuring Kate Moss (a.k.a. the ageless wonder) could not be more perfect. Straddling Marlon Brando’s Matchless motorbike, she’s the epitome of sexy, sultry, rocker chic. Seriously can’t wait to see the rest of it, but until then, we get a peek behind the scenes with seasoned photographer Terry Richardson…

HAWAIIAN HOLIDAY
Packing List

It’s Aloha Friday, and time to pack for Hawaii!

I’ll get to be with my entire family in a beach house for a week, which means lots of lounging and sun time (plus a dinner at Nobu!). So as long as I’ve got my beachwear and a few dresses, I’m good to go…

HOW TO WEAR
Aviator Sunglasses

I used to think I could only pull out my aviators in warm weather when I’m in my full-on boho chic summer wardrobe mode. Oh how wrong I was! I’m seeing them everywhere and every way these days, from classic, preppy, punk, casual, comfy, sleek, sexy, in winter, spring, summer or fall…

HAUTE HAWAII
#DVFlovesROXY

Since I’m headed to Hawaii next week for my grandfather’s 90th birthday, the DVF swimwear collection for Roxy is really speaking to me right now — two faves rolled up into one. I grew up on the North Shore of Oahu where the surfing culture figures prominently in daily life. Girls didn’t really surf back then, so it especially warms my heart to see two local surfer girls (Monyca Byrne Wickey and Kelia Moniz) as the models for the campaign. I thought it was quite fitting for Diane von Furstenberg — who is all about highlighting a woman’s strengths — to use beautiful, confident, real wahine. Surfer chic done right, if you ask me…

MODERN LUXE
Ivanka Trump’s UES Pad

I do not know how I could have overlooked Ivanka Trump’s apartment in Elle Decor’s October 2012 issue. Because whenever you intermingle hot lighting, edgy art, sexy shine, and lush materials, you’ve got all my attention…no questions asked…

LINE TO LOVE
Emerson Fry

I know there are many out there that are not familiar, so I will say this: acquaint yourself! Emerson Fry is a clothing brand that basically sums up what I want my closet to be about: simple, effortless, chic…with a few added bits of edge. But I’m not the only one — the line is so popular that since the launch of their Spring 2013 collection just two weeks ago, several pieces have sold out! No surprise there, I know I want it all too…

[Guest Post] sukio
Runway to Home

Please welcome Desiré of sukio!

You are in for a major treat. Desiré’s outrageously gorgeous interiors blog, sukio, was one of my very first and favorite reads, and to this day never fails to satisfy my need for the glam. I’m hooked! So thrilled to have her here today to give you a little taste. You’ll be addicted too…

MARILYN MINTER
Water Play

“Shimmerous”

Yesterday I included a Marilyn Minter book I purchased as part of my new office scheme; today I wanted to post some of her latest photography. You may recognize her work from the Jimmy Choo XV campaign/book, the Harper’s Bazaar “On Fire” editorial last November, or on Gossip Girl. I’m a HUGE fan of how she continually reinvents her definition of the feminine edgy/sexy and isn’t afraid to experiment with different elements and techniques, always with a heavy dose of glam…
