CRAZY. SEXY. COOL.
Rosie HW on The Coveteur

I haven’t had the pleasure of perusing The Coveteur in some time, so I was especially blown away by model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s glamorous digs. We all know that girl’s got mad street style skills, but I guess I didn’t realize just how super self-aware she is of her look, at a young 26. It’s a plush Parisian prettiness with a slightly 70′s boho flair — and mixed with the cool tropical L.A. vibe of her home — I am ALL about it. Not to mention her new line of lingerie is the kind of loungewear I believe every woman should own (ditch those sweats, ladies!!!). Color me impressed with little Miss RHW…

MY FIVE SCENTS
Day & Night

This weekend I picked up Elizabeth & James’ first scent (LOVE!) and it got me thinking: I rotate between only a few signature scents. Depending on the time of year I may throw in a seasonal scent, but really, I have my go-to ol’ reliables that work it for me, day or night…

MAISON MODERN
Paris I’m in Love

Well…this is still not out of my system. Thanks to blog bud Desiré I will not get over any time soon the Parisian interior with traditional architectural details mixed with contemporary art and furnishings. And once again, let’s not forget the wood herringbone floors, because I needed to feel faint too, really. Simple, elegant, soft, refined, totally now – a Parisian home for modern times — courtesy of Gilles et Boissier. There is only so much I can handle here, people!

VALENTINE’S DAY BEAUTY
Two Looks, One Palette

This Valentine’s Day, I decided I’d try to spice it up a little, push myself out of my comfort zone, and experiment with two bold-for-me makeup looks. Hourglass Cosmetics and I have been wanting to collaborate together, and after receiving an amazing care package from them I thought, let’s see what fun we can have with this. A little conceptualizing later, et voila...a dolled up girl is a happy girl! But I am by no means a makeup artist, so I guess the lesson here is this: if I can do it, you certainly can too! (And bonus: Hourglass Cosmetics has been nice enough to offer my readers 15% off!)

Here are the products I used to get what I’m calling the Good Girl cat-eye look and the Bad Girl smokey-eye look

SPRING TREND TO TRY
The White Shirtdress

Despite the current “cool down” here in So Cal, I’m already looking ahead to Spring essentials. And what better item for the crisp Spring air than a crisp white shirtdress? Dress it up with a blazer, or down with chunky sandals — any way you play it, it’s shaping up to be a must-have for the season…

VAN CLEEF & ARPELS
at the Bowers Museum

Last week I had the honor of attending a private gallery tour and dinner at the Bowers Museum here in Orange County to view A Quest for Beauty: The Art of Van Cleef & Arpels. The exhibit details the rich history of the brand over a span of 100 years, as well as the innovation and artistry behind both their iconic and never before seen pieces. Not only is it a rare treat to view exquisite pieces that have adorned famous women in history like Liz Taylor and Maria Callas, but also on view is Princess Grace of Monaco’s collection loaned by the royal family for this exhibit. The entire experience is a delight in deco detailing and truly inventive craftsmanship…

VOGUE CAFÉ
at Printemps Haussman Paris

Vogue Paris’ pop-up Hugo & Victor patisserie at retailer Printemps Hausmann steals the Fashion Week pre-show with its pretty in pink paneled walls, 1970′s brass and chrome pieces, and Vogue cover prints from the past. It’s a fun little maison-away-from-maison for the foodie fashion lover…

THE E LIST
Pre-Spring Edition

I know it’s only January, but I’ve got spring on the mind. My palette is feeling a little 70′s Parisian, with black and blush, lace and leather, Diptyque, Guerlain, florals, fur and feminine touches…

LIVABLE LUXURY
European Re-Classic

Let’s just call this Wanderlust Wednesday, because this Madrid remodel by designer Luis Puerta definitely has me lusting for a European staycay. It’s that classic example of a traditional space inserted with a mix of antiques and contemporary pieces (you know my passion for mixing in modern art!). Despite the downright luxurious materials — velvets, silks, cowhides — the space is surprisingly comfortable. The openness, simplicity of space, and abundance of light bestow a sense of informality, perfectly balanced by punctuations of stately accents…
