Let it (officially) begin!
Welcome back! I for one am relieved that Thanksgiving has finally passed, so that now I don’t have to be embarrassed about listening to Christmas music…which I started 2 weeks ago when I bought the new Michael Bublé Christmas album. (So I blame him clearly. And Starbucks eggnog lattes.) Anyway, I got to thinking that I tend to listen to the same stuff year after year after year! So here are some ideas if you Christmas celebraters out there are looking for something new:

Christmas Cocktails | Christmas with The Rat Pack | Dean Martin
Harry Connick, Jr. | Michael Bublé | Tony Bennett
Yo-Yo Ma | Pink Martini | James Taylor
Bing Crosby | Ella Fitzgerald | Frank Sinatra
Nat King Cole | A Charlie Brown Christmas | Carpenters
Glee | Chicago* | She & Him
Not on the list: Christmas movie soundtracks. Elf and Love Actually are quite good!
Any suggestions for me??
Happy jingling!

(*OK so did you know that Chicago has THREE Christmas albums? I just find it funny that they’re not producing any new music except Christmas music!)

You’re funny. You know I don’t own a single Christmas album? Not that I dislike the music, I’ve just usually subjected myself to whatever the radio gives me. I’m particularly intrigued by Zooey Deschanel’s take on X-Mas. Plus the Carpenters and James Taylor have got to be good!
all great choices. the she& him xmas album is fantastic! i highly recommend it. i bought the mp3 album off amazon for $5. can’t beat that! my mom has nearly every christmas cd that has ever existed.
Absolutely love all of these, definitely some of my favorites. I watched Love Actually for the 3,000th time this weekend, its the best!!
oh i do love me some michael buble! must get that one on the rotation! ox
Oh how I love Christmas music!!! It’s that time of year!!! Hope you had a wonderful weekend.
Love these suggestions! I am always fan of the classics but love being introduced to new tunes.
I love Pink Martini! Try Chris Botti – December, it is very soothing and kind of romantic. Also, any of the Brian Setzer Orchestra Christmas cd’s are fun.
There is nothing more depressing than when the Husband forces me to stop blasting Christmas music in our house in January. Christmas tunes bring me extreme joy
This is a fabulous list! I love the Love Actually soundtrack as well! Hope you had a great weekend, Erika!
Ooh! I’m totally intrigued by the Yo Yo Ma Christmas album as well as the Pink Martini one. Will have to have a listen on iTunes!
I was kind of a scrooge about Christmas. I got into it a little more last year. I don’t own any Christmas albums, but there’s this Spanish one my parents would play when we were kids that would probably bring joyful tears if played now. That She and Him would probs be good.
I feel the same way-no more guilt about Christmasy things! I am LOVING Michael Buble’s Christmas album, too.
Love all of these. Johnny Cash Little Drummer Boy is one of my favorites!
No Mariah Carey? What? Christmas music is not the same without Mariah’s voice.
Sidenote: That post you said never showed up on my spam or comments
this just put a huge (!) smile on my face. love Christmas music and you’ve introduced me to some new ones! thank you! xx
Ohh…great idea’s for presents too!! Cant’ wait to listen to some of these!
Great list!!! I’m so excited to start listening

Every year we listen to the Yo-Yo Ma album! I love it! And thought we were the only ones… But now this post is just making me want to buy them all! Especially the Rat Pack, Tony Bennett, Michael Buble, Pink Martini, Ella, Frank… Yeah that’s about it! I need to start a collection. M will be happy. (not)
What a great round-up of music! Love so many people in here! Harry Connick Jr. is one of my fav, and of course always, always Frank Sinatra!
I think you hit up all my go-to’s for the Christmas season! Michael Buble’s soundtrack is going to be on repeat until New Years.
Christmas music is seriousily my favorite. And Michael Buble, his voice is so soothing. Saw him on TV this morning, need to buy his Cd ASAP!
OH! And I bought last christmas, Jackie Evanco’s CD! She was from America’s Got Talent!
Every year I buy 1-2 new Christmas albums. But I’m so picky about what i like to hear this time of year! Loving ALL of your selections. You’ve given me a great wish list this year.
LOVE LOVE LOVE Michael Buble’s Christmas album! It’s been added to the Christmas music loop!
Ellis Marsalis has a new Christmas album with a New Orleans vibe!

I had absolutely no intention of purchasing any Christmas music this season. Until now. Pretty much at least one in every category you’ve presented sounds wonderful to me. I’m particularly interested to hear the She & Him album, I just love Zooey’s voice. Thanks!
I have Buble, Glee, Sinatra, and Mariah as my current Pandora Christmas mix! Will definitely be adding some of your other suggestions!
I LOVE the new She & Him Xmas album, and especially love how much M Ward is singing on this one.. Have you ever heard Sufjan Stevens Christmas album? Its one of my faves.
