WANTED: an excuse to throw a dinner party to complete this room!

in need of sconces

There are several pieces I’d love to get for our dining room (new table; Philippe Starck Ghost chairs; Missoni placemats), but for now, I’m in need of a pair of sconces to flank the mirror, and add some extra illumination plus a little drama to the dark gray walls. Any ideas? I was thinking something like this crystal waterfall sconce from Shades of Light:

Of course I’d love this Jonathan Adler sconce, but alas, we have the pendant version already:

I think either matches the other pieces in the room, such as the pendant lamp from West Elm, the Pottery Barn beveled mirror, the Nate Berkus ikat bowl, the mirrored tray from Z Gallerie, and the 1970′s gold Italian ice bucket from Etsy

drinks anyone?

…and of course the absolutely gorgeous Japanese handpainted gold-rimmed bone china handed down to me by my grandparents, that I’m absolutely thrilled to have:

how lucky am I?

And I would be remiss if I didn’t mention these quite groovy vintage napkins from Spain, also picked up on Etsy:

So won’t you be our guest? Seems like these days we can only finish projects with a deadline in place. Have your people call my people. Let’s do this.

…xoxo

Update: this room has been completed (sans sconces)! See my easy solution here.
